Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Sat, 31 Mar 2018

Interviewed Mar 2,018 in Houston, TX (took 14 days)
Had a very quick interview with a HR Recruiter. Extremely quick. She was talking extremely fast, and didn't ask any real in-depth questions. Just your basic questions. Tell me about yourself & what are your salary requirements. About a little over a week later had an interview with the hiring manager. Personality was a bit standoffish, didn't seem too interested in much I had to say. So here's where the odd part comes in, after the interview and the next day, the hiring manager let me know of two design project she wanted me to complete to test my design skills, she told me take the weekend and return by the following Tuesday. I worked hard on these projects because I was still extremely interested in position. Monday morning I woke up to email from the HR Recruiter that they chose a final candidate. Not sure what happened between telling me about the project to complete on Friday then Monday saying they chose a final candidate. I sent in my completed projects and expressed my disappointment, only to get a email back from the HR recruiter saying that she made a mistake and there was "miscommunication" and that they would review what I sent in. Never heard back from anyone. This all just leads me to believe that they are shady behind the scenes as well very unprofessional. I was very disappointed in the overall experience.
