Difficult Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Interviewed Aug 2014 in City of London, England(took 21 days)
I applied to a job position posted online. The recruitment department contacted me and invited me to both 1st and 2nd round interviews. I received email confirmation of interview details, job spec and brief for a training presentation I was required to deliver. Both interviews were conducted in a professional manner and maintained focus on the role, my suitability and how my skills and experience were relevant to the demands of the role. It was a pleasure to finally see some professionalism and maturity from a company when in the past year I have been put through some amazingly bad interviews and processes.

Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Tue, 2 Dec 2014

Interviewed null -1 in San Francisco, CA
The ad said that the above position would be in Walnut Creek/Sacramento, I assumed that maybe there were two positions. I live in SF and was going to ask about the Walnut Creek position. The first interview was a phone interview. The HR employee who was to interview me, rescheduled 3 times. Twice at the last minute. When this person did finally maintain the appointment, the call was 20 minutes late (for a 30 minute interview) with no explanation. The interview began with the usual questions, and about 10 mins in, the interviewer asked me if I was willing to travel to Sacramento a few days a week. I said no, sorry, Walnut Creek was the furthest I was willing to travel, at which the interviewer said that he/she "thought so". I was frustrated that this wasn't a question posed in, perhaps, the very first email, rather than wasting both of our time. The interviewer seemed like a nice enough person, but it was a very frustrating experience.

Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Fri, 26 Dec 2014

Interviewed Nov 2014
I applied online in early November 2014. Within a couple of days I received a call from a recruiter who went through the basic questions of my resume, why did you leave your last company, what type of salary are you looking for etc. When the initial telephone interview was complete, she schedule a time frame to which HR would contact me to go through a few more details about the position at hand. When I spoke to HR, we set up a date and time for an onsite interview with a group of brokers, managers, marketing and few other superiors. The 2 hour interview, I thought personally went well. Everything they needed in the next Broker Assistant position was everything that I possessed in my background. After the interview I went home and wrote out a variety of thank you emails addressing each individual that I interviewed with... 8 total. Each week that has passed I sent over an additional email to HR indicating how enthused I was with the opportunity to interview and potentially becoming their next Broker Assistant. It's been over a month now and I have not received any feedback whats so ever. It is very discouraging not knowing whether or not you made the cut. And I wish, companies would at least send out an email indicating their acceptance or not of a candidate.

Phone interview. Called a few days later to schedule an onsite interview. Met with one person who was very new to his entry level position. Asked more personal questions than questions about my resume and qualifications. He talked about his girlfriend and how he goes to the beach with her. Interviewer didn't seem like he knew was he was doing. Said he would call back in a couple days with an update. Never heard back to inform me either way. Wouldn't want to work with a company that clearly lacks basic respect.

Interviewed Feb 2015 in Bedminster, NJ(took 30 days)
I applied for the position online in January 2015 and was contacted in mid-February for an interview. The interview went well. Was also informed that I would have to take an Excel test and a Lease Abstracting test the following week. I prepared for the Excel test by taking online tutorials so I would not be completely unprepared. Test was supposed to be 2 hours long, yet I was only given an hour and 45 mins to complete this test. So of course more emphasis was placed on the three questions that I was not able to answer and therefore was not selected for the job. I am convinced that they don't test every applicant for this particular position, only certain people. People need to understand that not every person does well in test-taking situations.
