Average Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Sun, 5 Jul 2015

Interviewed Apr 2014 in Boston, MA(took 14 days)
I applied for a graphic design job and was given a phone interview (split across two calls). In the first call, her *very* first question was to sternly demand my salary requirements. I refused to give a figure and said I’m completely open. She practically barked at me, DEMANDING a figure. I finally told her that I’d like to make at least $X which is what I earned ten years ago (thinking this would be a low enough number and should satisfy her). Imagine my shock when she revealed “oh, this job isn’t going to pay as much as that” and the figure she gave me was akin to what I was earning in my first design job back in 2000. The second call consisted of her reading a list of pointless questions from a checklist (nothing to do with the position or my experience). She asked something about what I can tell her about their company. My “you’re a real estate firm” answer apparently wasn’t good enough because she got nasty and snapped “well when you have an interview with a company you’re supposed to research them!” Wow. I realize now I should’ve just hung up the phone. Her questions got even more and more silly, like, “What do you need to do your job?” I came right out and said I don’t understand what this question even means. Her response was. To. Repeat. The. Question. Slowly. And. Loudly. Word. For. Word. Again, I should’ve hung up the phone. (Oh, the question was referring to what equipment do I need, like a desk and a computer – YES of course I’d need a computer to perform my work!). The call finally ended and I never heard from her again (and I was glad for that!).

After a brief telephone interview, we had an offsite interview at a nearby hotel close to the plant. It was very informal, we sat down with a cup of coffee in the hotel lobby to discuss the position. We discussed a few personnel situations and how I would handle them. And then we discussed my interest in the position.

Interviewed Jun 2015 in Pittsburgh, PA(took 30 days)
Did a phone interview and felt that it went very well. Was then set up to go into the Pittsburgh Office and meet with 3 of the managers. The managers were very very knowledgable and very easy to talk too. Once done with all of the I was given a test to look over a lease contract and pull different information from it. I was very nervous about this part but the one manager made me feel very comfortable during the entire process. She did mention that the hiring process was very slow and that if I did not get the job I would hear from them the next day. I did not hear from them in the coming days so I was hoping that I had gotten the position. It has been about a month and still have not heard back from them, my online application still says in review. Lets hope the HR department is just very very slow and good news ocme ssoon.

Very Difficult Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Thu, 30 Jul 2015

Interviewed Aug 2014 in Bristol, England(took 1 days)
Went through an agency, who sent details and job specs, feeback was quick too. They are going a bit through your CV. It did not help the unfriendliness of the interviewer and cold atmosphere. It did also not help comments such as: "as a manager I am expecting from you, to make extra hrs, unpaid, come before my team and leave after my team, because in her opinion, is a sign of professionalism", in which era this manager lives, I still wonder, by this point I had made my mind and was to decline any offer.

Interview Questions
Questions were very usual, how will you deal with a conflct in your team? what are you weakness? Very, very boring, they follow a script to the dot. The interviwer and head of department was very strict to keep to the procedures, on ocassions quite inflexible with the process which made me quite unconfortable, there was another lady that hardly spoke and was there more like a witness. Either the department manager was not very use to the interviewing process, or was a control freak.

Difficult Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Sun, 2 Aug 2015

Interviewed Feb 2012 in Mumbai(took 7 days)
It was very tough with 5 - 6 different rounds, you donot find it to be a regular process, they started with the aptitude test and then followed by Group discussion, then there were different test based on personality questions, then one to one interview rounds. Over all a never seen interview process and the whole process takes a day time for the complete rounds. There was a group interview round where in 5 - 6 interviewers bombarded questions one after the other just to make a candidate nervous. Overall a very difficult recruitment process.

Easy Interview – Overall Negative Experience – No – Fri, 14 Aug 2015

Interviewed Apr 2015 in San Francisco, CA(took 28 days)
Applied online, didn't get response until 3 week later, offering me an interview for a location and position for which I hadn't applied. The interview was very basic -- asking about experience, background, and interest in position and company. After 2 interviews which seemed to go well, they again failed to close the feedback loop. Very unprofessional and poor experience overall.

Interviewed null -1 in Hopewell, NJ(took 5 days)
Telephone interview, for a position I had held previously but left due to a promotion within the company. Another contracting company came in and took over management of that position; it was increasing the base pay rate so I was hopeful it would match my current pay rate but it did not. The interviewer was friendly and asked questions that were easy to answer, not aggressive. He gave me hope that the pay rate was at least similar to my current job, but when I had a follow-up face to face with someone else I learned that was not the case.

One interview, took about 30 minutes. The interview was very casual and relaxed at a local coffee shop, where I met with the vice president and a manager. It was a good experience, but did not receive the job I originally applied for. I had to take the entry level job, with severe pay cut.
